Pediatric Specialty Telehealth, HIPAA-compliant AI/video on AWS

The challenge

Families seeking specialty pediatric diagnostic care face months-long wait times, in-person evaluations that require travel to a limited number of clinics, and language barriers when the family's first language differs from the practitioner's. The customer needed an AWS platform that could take the entire diagnostic encounter remote, HIPAA-compliant end-to-end, with real-time multilingual video, an AI-enabled patient intake flow, and the deployment architecture to run the customer's proprietary AI/video diagnostic workload at production scale.

What we built

A HIPAA-compliant AWS landing zone stood up via the Infinitra HIPAA Compliance Accelerator, plus the AWS deployment architecture for the customer's proprietary AI/video analysis workload. Video from the clinical session flows directly into encrypted Amazon S3; AWS Lambda functions trigger on upload to drive the event-driven AI analysis pipeline on BAA-eligible compute (EC2, ECS). A third-party real-time translation engine is wired into the video stream, synchronizing translated audio and captions at millisecond-level lag. An AI-enabled patient intake agent handles digitized intake forms and electronic signature capture before the appointment begins. The customer keeps their proprietary AI diagnostic algorithm; we built the AWS platform underneath and the integrations around it.

Why this matters

The platform takes specialty pediatric diagnostics from "wait months and travel to a clinic" to "the practitioner joins your living room over secure video, in the language you speak at home, with the paperwork already done before the appointment starts." HIPAA-compliant end-to-end, Well-Architected from day one, ready for the customer to scale across more states and more clinical specialties on the same foundation.
